House Decentius, a history
March Forth with Valor
Following the Council of Bardmont in 2E 283, a massive rebellion occurred under all the imperial provinces under Potentate Vesidue-Shaie. The Rebellion caused an uncountable number of lives to be lost throughout its 37-year span. Among the last ten years of the conflict, a low born military commander of humble origins led an Imperial victory. As a result, a rebellious army targeting lands involving the Nibenay Basin met its destruction, thus hailing recognition of the name Decentius.
Vestrick was then rewarded with the title of Lord by the Emperor-Potentate Versidue-Shaie. The name Decentius had gone from the humbler classes and joined the new class of the priviledged people. And still they continued to serve the Empire militarily, for though they were rewarded, loyalty was it's own reward.
Accolades achieved, various generations of military commanders provided, serving, dying, and fighting for the Empire in any way possible, the reputation that House Decentius had achieved was renown.
But with the onset of time, stagnation had come. Like a rot it settled in, the House after the fire of it's progenitor and his warrior successors, grew to enjoy too much it's fruits over it's labors. In it's fruits of passion and pleasure, did it go to focus more on political expansion. Marrying in with other houses, trying it's hand at expansion in the other provinces.
One branch home to the province of Skyrim, of the Nordic Clan Shock-Arm and Decentius was borne of Sextus Decentius and that of Brenya Shock-Arm. Skyrim and Cyrodiil, intertwined in the offspring, thus came forth Asgald, Cyra, and Volund Decentius. Scions and offshoots of a once ascendant house. They were just but one of the varying branches that formed.
But the main line continued under that of Constans Decentius. Constans had children and the line of succession was firmly routed in his blood and his blood alone. Until the Three-Banners War. For in the fighting in Cyrodiil, did the last true lord of Decentius be struck with personal tragedy. His heir and successor, reported to perish of the intensity of heat, his others missing or married, he was left to be the last of the name to his own knowledge.
But his belief and commitment to the thoughts of the Houses' extinction with his own death were shattered, for in the man's believed nadir, came the scion Volund Decentius. A man who lived ignorant of his past and routes, a product of the shattered lands, he came forth a dark night with a band of his own followers.
Long had he served others. Akatosh guiding him and directing him along his path, did he meet Constans. The two men spoke few words for a night. The morning after, the Last Pure Lord of Decentius passed, and came forth the Lord of War. Volund had succeeded him, and then began a new reign.
Legion
Military
Other Kings of Old, Other lands host to armies of yesteryear, but we Legions of Cyrodiil, Ruby and Red place ourselves on the site of our Homeland Cyrodiil. We sabbatize from the endless toils, which we accept in battles, which we endured. No one saw our swords at rest, from when Stendarr became our patron, we harken to duty and justice. Eternally vigilant through our lives, guarding the Children of Cyrodiil. We march West to the Highlands, and to the East to the Basin. Settling countless trophies all over our earth. The Ebonheart Pact, the Daggerfall Covenant, and the Aldmeri Dominion bear witness to this. And now those who look among us, reward our campaigns with your prayers.
And so we say to you, Divines of Cyrodiil, we serve our lord, Volund Decentius with faith and honor. We who represent the greatness of days gone bye, we are the last of the Empire of Cyrodiil, let us restore through sword or magic, arrow or bottle, ballista and horse.
Catervae
Subterfuge
When most speak of spies with Noble Houses, various names with the equivalency of a spy-master are established. When they speak of the Decentii, there are no true spies. Rather the Decentii look to subterfuge, intelligence, and assassination with military precision. Catervae. Those who work as a group. The foe, the asset, the tougher action, requiring skillsets that the average man struggles with are done by the Catervae. They are the shadow to the brightness of men.
Domestici
Civilian
The Army, The Government, The Social Club, and even The Church rely on the flow of wealth to subsist and function. With the once prosperous home province of Cyrodiil suffering from depopulation and devastation, has the manorial lands of safe Lords provided a new means of wealth.
The cities they too provide, but they are overburdened with those who flee the war ravaged lands. And so the wealth transfers onto the safer lands. Where all is not lost but the road to recovery is kept anew. The Priest, the Smith, the Farmer, the Alchemist, those who practice their crafts may once more find a market to prosper in.
Those who wish to guide in turn find a land open to them to administrate. Ambition and opportunity await. The Cogs of society still live and they help bring color to a life so depressingly grey.

Out of Character
Information
House Decentius is heavy RP guild centric of Imperial nobility with focus on military and diplomatic themes. We strive to provide a fun, immersive and lore-adhering roleplay environment where someone can develop their characters within our stories. Externally, we are a noble house that maintains a reclusive nature while always on the prowl for new contacts, keeping our lands in war-torn Cyrodiil and the economy of our banner all while bearing swords against threats to the Heartland.
With our roots in nobility, the characters know no objective they cannot conquer if set upon it. Be it by humane or inhumane means; the Decentius bloodline believes that the ends justify the means. In this belief, they are willing to use anything necessary to forge a better tomorrow, allowing the required evil to foster the greater good.
Out of character, we provide a friendly and helpful environment for people to create their own stories touching the visions shared by an Imperial noble house and its patron. Each member brings valued characters that play a specific role in the overall universe.
Various facets compose our daily roleplay including political actions, establishing economic ties, recording and carving history via the pursuits of Lord Decentius, domestic and guard duties and our involvement in roleplay around the ESO community.
We foster the pursuit of character advancement for our members. Our willingness exists to work with you every step of the way to allow your ideas to find reality, so everyone sees the enjoyment of the story along the way.
For House Decentius, heavy RP means roleplay happens every day at any time as people come together to shoot the breeze. Our focus is on free-form RP leaving proactive members a necessity. We regularly roleplay in specific locations but encourage roleplay to happen wherever. The collaboration in House Decentius comes not from its leadership but from everyone who calls it home.
